Villa San Michele, Florence. How better to impress your guests than with a stay at this magical 15th-century former monastery, overlooking Florence? The Villa’s 46 rooms can be booked for two or three nights. As well as dinner, the hotel can organise a buffet lunch in the garden and sightseeing trips by vintage car.
Special requests have included booking Andrea Bocelli and the Gypsy Kings for a wedding party, flying in a Royal Marines band, and even arranging for a wedding cake to be delivered by private jet from Beverly Hills. Dame Vivien Duffield was thrown a 60th birthday party here, attended by 120 friends.
After dinner they enjoyed a classical concert in Florence. The following day, partygoers were led on a sophisticated treasure hunt, seeking out clues amid the town’s frescoes.
